"Fresh Horizons" was set up by Margaret and Richard Croucher.

After almost 30 years in Education we decided to set up our own independent business, helping others achieve their dreams.

We wanted to re-balance our work/social lives as we found that work was taking over and we decided that, to achieve a successful and secure future, we needed to take control of our own destiny.

We are passionate about our business and believe it offers us and others a remarkable future where we can work part-time and enjoy many benefits of a full-time income.

We were introduced to the company by a friend – Sue Bates - who knew that, in the past, we had used natural remedies and complementary therapies and treatments.

What she didn't know, at the time, was that Margaret was suffering with a problem – very akin to IBS – which was beginning to put limits on what she could do.

Margaret writes:

When Sue showed me the "box" I was immediately taken by the opportunity it offered. The reasons were many but basically it provided:

• Natural, gentle, treatments that would not have the side-effects of prescribed medication
• An "escape-route" from the mounting workload that Education was demanding
• The chance to meet new people and to help them achieve their dreams
• An opportunity to build a secure retirement where we could achieve the dreams that we have to travel and spend quality time together and with others
• The chance, as a trained musician, to spend more time making music – giving others pleasure
• The opportunity to be valued, as a person, for what I was doing
• Time – to spend as I wanted – not as others demanded…….to follow my many interests and hobbies……….to spend with our family

We started this business very part-time, at the end of 2004, but Margaret gave up teaching in the summer of 2005 and now works the business full-time

We love the freedom it gives us, the opportunities to meet others and the satisfaction of helping many other people.

It also gives us the protection for our retirement that pension funds no longer offer.
